Clinical psychologist Theresa Bolick speaks during an open workshop about special education Wednesday at Nashua High School South. A few dozen parents came to hear a panel of related individuals speak about issues and solutions in the Nashua School District.

Public education and special education should not just require a school response but a community response, it's a partnership. With that in mind PASE (Parents Assisting Special Education), has collaborated with school districts and Health and Human Resources to develop the:

Not Just One Disability Conference and Seminar Series

The series has been developed for the purpose of “national style” content
in a local setting.   Too often many of the new ideas on disablities are discussed at national convention where few people can afford to attend.
It is the goal of this series to share on a number of topics:

  • Innovative practices in treating those with Disabilites
    • Sharing new information of “best practices” in teaching those on the spectrum.
  • Real Life Experiences
    • Parents and practioners will share their experiences in the classroom and at home.
  • Myths and Realities
    • We will explore the myths and realities of life of a family experiencing Disabilities.

The delivery of the information will be done in a fun, energetic way giving all attendees a better understanding on Autism and effective ways to work with the affected children. The event is FREE and includes lunch. Also please inquire about Professional Development Credits.
Current and Future Seminars include (Information on Pages that Follow):

  • Not Just one Autism
  • Showings of the Film Including Samuel
  • My Child has a Disabilty, Now What?
  • “The Cliff” Planning for my Special Needs Child after 21
